Privacy Policy
Privacy policy
Last updated July 2026. This policy explains what ICD10 Detail collects when you use ICD10 Detail.
The short version
What we collect
Information you give us
If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, your email address and whatever you put in the message. It is sent to our mailbox and stored there; it is not written to a database, and nothing you type is retained if you do not submit the form. We use it only to reply and to act on what you reported. Please do not send protected health information or patient identifiers. There is no reason to include them, and this site is not a secure channel for them.
Information collected automatically
Our web server keeps standard access logs: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and browser user-agent. These are used to keep the site running, diagnose faults and detect abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you.
Search queries
Terms typed into the search box are processed to return results. Search result pages are excluded from search engine indexing and are not cached.
What we never collect
- Names, postal addresses or phone numbers
- Patient records, diagnoses or any protected health information
- Payment or financial details - the site is free and takes no payments
Cookies
The site itself sets no tracking cookies and requires none to function. There is no analytics script and no advertising script on the site as published.
If advertising or analytics are introduced in future, third-party providers may set cookies to serve and measure ads, and this policy will be updated before that happens. Where such providers are used, they may use cookies or device identifiers to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings or at optout.aboutads.info.
Third parties
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share data only with our hosting provider, as needed to operate the site, and where required by law.
How long we keep data
Server access logs are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes and then rotated out. Email correspondence is kept as long as needed to resolve your enquiry.
Your rights
Depending on where you live - including under the GDPR in the UK and EU, and the CCPA/CPRA in California - you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, in most cases there is little to act on. To make a request, email [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.
Children
This site is intended for healthcare and coding professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International visitors
The site is operated from, and data is processed in, the country where our hosting is located. By using the site you consent to that processing.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
