Not a substitute for professional judgment
Assigning a diagnosis or procedure code requires reading the complete medical record and applying the official coding guidelines. No reference site can do that for you. Nothing here creates a clinician–patient, coder–client or advisory relationship of any kind.
If you have a medical concern, speak to a qualified healthcare professional. Never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you read on this site.
Accuracy and completeness
We take accuracy seriously and derive our data directly from the official CMS and NCHS code files. Even so, we make no warranty that the information here is complete, current or free of error. Transcription mistakes, processing errors and gaps between an official update and our reload are all possible.
The official CMS and NCHS publications are the only authoritative source. For any decision that carries clinical, financial or legal consequence, verify against them.
Codes change
The ICD-10 code sets are revised annually, effective October 1. A code that is valid today may be deleted, split or revised in a future year. Always confirm that you are using the code set in effect for the date of service.
Reimbursement is not guaranteed
Whether a code is marked billable here reflects its structural validity in the code set. It does not mean a payer will cover or reimburse a service. Coverage depends on the payer, the plan, medical necessity and documentation.
No liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ICD10 Detail accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, this site. Use of the site is at your own risk. See the terms of service.
No affiliation
ICD10 Detail is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to CMS, the NCHS, the AMA, the WHO or any government agency.
